Young Chilean Engineers from the national youth robotics team have recently launched a project in Techo Lab, which is Chile’s virtual incubator for open social innovation. The contest is intended to engage and motivate young people to participate in the development of innovative solutions to problems affecting those living at the base of the pyramid. More than 7,000 people have joined the virtual incubator in less than 2 months.

Youth from Corazon de Chileno (Chile’s national youth robotics team) pitched an idea to incorporate robotics programs into all the social risk schools in Chile.

Gled is a start up out of Valparaiso, Chile that specializes in developing Augmented Reality Solutions. In their first year of business they have already been commissioned to do work for high profile clients that includes multinational companies such as Chevrolet, Intel and Nestle among others. The Augmented Reality work of Gled has also shown the diversity of their talent and expertise, crossing over into a wide range of industries and projects. They have designed Augmented Reality games for cereal boxes to a specialty application for a notebook/laptop cover for Rhein Motion. In 2010 they were the first team out of Chile to win the Intel Challenge – Latin America.
